By the Grace of G-d 15th of Menachem Av, 5718 Brooklyn, N. Y.

Blessing and Greeting:
I duly received your letter enclosing a translated Sichah of Shovuoth 1934.
I congratulate you on your initial effort of this kind of literary activity. Noting from your letter how much this translation has affected you personally, I am certain that this has helped a great deal in making the translation a success.
Inasmuch as you mention the sad period of the Three Weeks I wish to mention that now that we are in the 15th of Menachem Av, which, as our Sages relate, is historically linked with various happy events in Jewish life, I trust that this day will bring you, in the midst of all our people, joy and inspiration, and true comfort, which this day inaugurates.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
I have turned over the translation to the department of our Kehot Publication Society, for editorial comment, and no doubt you will hear from them in due course.
