By the Grace of G-d Rosh Chodesh Nissan,5734. Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Nosson Vogel

Greeting and Blessing:
I duly received your letter and short report about your successful visit in Scandinavia. And although you write there only about your Hatzlocho in matters of strengthening Yiddishkeit, the Mezuza Campaign, etc., I trust that your trip was successful also in your personal affairs, both immediately as well as through lasting contacts for the future.
While, needless to say, the proper way to serve G-d is not for the sake of reward, there is the well known saying of the Alter Rebbe that G-d gives Jews material things, and Jews convert the material into the spiritual. Hence, when a Jew follows this principle, G-d gives him all the more material benefits, to enable him to convert them into spiritual accomplishments.
May G-d grant that you should go from strength to strength in both these aspects, inasmuch as all aspects of a Jew, beginning with the well-being of the body and all its needs, are Kodesh, though by comparison, the soul and its needs are Kodesh Kodoshim.
At this time, I extend to you and all yours my prayerful wishes for a Kosher and inspiring Pesach, and may the "Season of Our Liberation" bring an increased measure of liberation from all matters that distract from serving G-d with complete joy and gladness of heart.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
