By the grace of G-d28th of Tishrei [5722]
[Miss Sarah Rifkah Posner]
Blessing and greeting.
I received your letter of Hoshana Rabbo and the previous one.
I was gratified to note the happier frame of mind of the second one, although, needless to say, I was surprised to note the mood in your first letter, especially in view of the anxieties you had before and which turned out satisfactorily. In any case, I trust that you will not permit yourself to be discouraged in the future since this is one of the well tried methods of the Yetzer Horo to prevent one from doing one's job.1 Moreover every determination to carry out one's duties in the best possible way brings with it additional strength from on high.2 In your case it is especially important to have a happy frame of mind and a cheerful disposition since it is undoubtedly reflected in your students. As a matter of fact there is every reason for you to be encouraged about your work as has been confirmed to me by Mr. Zippel with whom I spoke on Issru Chag. But of course satisfactory progress should only be an encouragement to further progress and there is always room for improvement.
I trust that you conveyed to your sister my request to write to me about the matter which was the subject of her correspondence several weeks ago.
Hoping to hear good news from you
With blessing
By Nissan Mindel
I am surprised that you have not informed my office about the expenses which you had in connection with the fulfilment of my request to visit Kfar Chabad [and] Bnos Chabad in the Holy Land etc. I trust that you will do so now, and similarly about your expenses in connection with your visit to our institutions in France, all of which should of course be for the expense of the Merkos L'inyonei Chinuch.
