By the Grace of G-d Rosh Chodesh Iyar, 5744 Brooklyn, N. Y.
Dr. and Mrs...
Sydney, NSW 2030, Australia
Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to receive your letters with the enclosure
As requested I will remember you all in prayer especially that Mrs. . . . should complete her pregnancy in good health and have a normal and easy delivery of a healthy baby in a happy and auspicious hour and that together you should bring each and all of your children to a life of Torah, chuppah and Good Deeds in pleasant circumstances materially and spiritually.
Receipt is enclosed for your tzedaka and may it additionally stand you and yours in good stead in all above,
With blessing,
P.S. I read with particular interest your reference to your synagogue of which you have the zechut to be President and I am very gratified to note your determination to do all you can to ensure the election of Rabbi . . . as your new spiritual leader.
As for the general membership of your synagogue which as often happens includes a wide range of frumkeit surely everyone understands that the Rabbi and spiritual leader is expected to be on a higher level of frumkeit than even the most frum members of the community for it is unusual that there should be members who are more frum than the Rabbi. Therefore in order to satisfy the basic requirement that the Rabbi should be the spiritual leader of all congregants, this Rabbi would certainly be a good choice. I trust that you will be successful in your efforts in this direction so that your congregations would truly reflect the name of Kehila Kadisha - a Holy Congregation in the fullest measure.
