Greeting and Blessing:
After not hearing from you for some time, I received your letter of the 11th of May. Many thanks for letting me know the good news it contained, and may G-d grant that you should be able to report further and even better good news in the future, both materially and spiritually. For, the advancement in all matters of goodness and holiness, Torah and Mitzvoth, in addition to being a must for its own sake, also widens the channels to receive G-d’s blessings in all needs.
In this connection, I am enclosing a copy of my message to the forthcoming Annual Convention of Chabad Women, which has more to say on the subject.
In connection with your happy expectation of increasing your family, may G-d grant that Mrs. Gauman should have a normal and easy pregnancy, and easy delivery of a healthy offspring at an auspicious and happy hour.
With the approach of Shovuos, the Festival of Mattan Torah, I send you prayerful wishes for a joyous and inspiring Yom Tov, and the traditional blessing to receive the Torah with joy and inwardness.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
P. S. With reference to the latter part of your letter, in which you ask advice in connection with Parnosso and your employment, it is difficult to give advice without knowing all the pertinent details, which in any case, cannot be fully conveyed in a letter. However, in general, it would be advisable to continue the work and business one already knows and has experience and connections. And although there have been disappointments in that the results do not come up to expectations, it would still be preferable to starting a new business, with a non-Jewish partner. It is to be hoped that if the effort that has to be put into a new business would be put into the business one is already familiar with, it would greatly improve its prospects.
