By the Grace of G-d 8th of Teves, 5732 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. . . .
Greeting and Blessing:
I am enclosing my usual participation, though bli’neder, in the additional mikvah.
The second purpose of this letter and this is the reason why it is sent to you special delivery, is the following matter:
You surely know of the plight of the Gruzinian Jews who came to Eretz Yisroel and the difficulties they have had since their arrival. Just a few days ago it came to my attention that the group of these olim who are in Ramlah, near Lud, have a special problem in regard to a house of prayer and mikvah. For, although these facilities are available in Ramlah, the problem as far as the shul is concerned is the fact that they have their own traditional nusach and have therefore found it necessary to arrange their minyan in a shelter. And as far as the mikvah is concerned, there is a problem of distance and possibly other problems, which make it difficult for them to use the local mikvah. And although, further, there is a Chabad mikvah in Lud, and there are some Gruzinians living there, there still remains an even greater problem of distance.
In view of the above, I received an urgent request to intervene in their behalf, so that they could have their own shul and mikvah.
Seeing that you are, thank G-d, building additional mikvahs in Eretz Yisroel, I am sending you this request by special delivery, in the hope that you will not only put them on your list, but will indeed give them a priority rating. Needless to say, the fact that they have recently come to a new land, it is vitally important that they should be able to continue their way of life with the maximum facilities in matters of Yiras Shomayim. For, the beginning is important, since it sets the pattern for the future. The importance and urgency of their situation is further underscored by the fact that it involves their women, young women and this is sufficient for the wise and there is no need to elaborate on it to you.
With blessing,
