Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter written in the auspicious days between Rosh Hashono and Yom Kippur. Apparently my letter (of Tammuz, 5742) has not reached you.
I am gratified to note that you and your co-workers are continuing your efforts for the new Mikveh with the determination worthy of the cause.
In light of this, there is really no need to emphasize to you about the vital importance of having a Kosher Mikveh at the earliest possible time. However, inasmuch as our Sages declare, ”Encourage the energetic,”1 I will fulfill this pleasant task by mentioning the special timeliness of this project, now that we are coming from Yom Kippur, of which it is written, "For on this day HaShem forgives and purifies you."2 Our Sages further emphasize in the Talmud3 that HaShem purifies the Jewish people on Yom Kippur, as a Mikveh cleanses and purifies, thus making all Jews worthy to receive a Chasimo u'Gmar Chasimo Tovo.
Obviously, it is a great Zechus for each and every one who helps build the Mikveh for the benefit of a whole Jewish community.
It is also written in our holy books that the final Geulo is also connected with an act of spiritual purification which G-d has promised - "I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses” (Ezekiel 36:25).
May G-d grant that you should soon be able to celebrate the completion of the new Mikveh and, moreover, be able to report that it is being used to the fullest capacity.
Wishing you and all yours, including all your co-workers a joyous and inspiring festival of Succos,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
