By the Grace of G-d 4th of Adar II, 5738 Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. ...
Wisconsin
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter of March 6th and, as requested, I will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good, especially for an improvement in Parnosso and for a suitable Shidduch.
Judging by your writing, it is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you at length that the daily life and conduct in accordance with G-d's Will, namely in accordance with the Torah and Mitzvoth, in addition to being a must for its own sake, is the channel to receive G-d's blessing. Therefore, every additional effort in this direction is bound to bring additional Divine blessings.
In general, in regard to Parnosso, it is advisable to consult with knowledgeable friends, who know you personally, and are also familiar with local conditions. It is logical to give preference to a line or area where one has professional training and experience, as you mention in your letter, and no doubt also connections. And, of course, getting established with a regular Parnosso would make it easier to find a suitable Shidduch.
As for mentioning the problem of laziness and the like, surely you know the assurance of our Sages that "nothing stands in the way of the will," and when one makes a firm resolve to overcome a problem, one is bound to succeed. This would be a good opportunity to have your Tefillin checked to make sure they are Kosher.
Wishing you a joyous and inspiring Purim,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
