Greeting and Blessing:

After the long interval, I received your letter of the 10th of Elul, and, as requested, I will remember you in prayer for a happy and pleasant New Year.

I trust that you are making ever-growing efforts to live up to the Jewish way of life in accordance with our Torah, Toras Chaim. This is the only way that will ensure you an harmonious and happy life, materially and spiritually. This time, during the month of Elul, the days of special Divine grace and benevolence, is especially auspicious for receiving G-d's blessings in all one's needs. It is necessary, however, to make an effort to seek G-d and the true and inner values of life, and as is stated in Chapter 27 of Tillim which we say twice daily at this time בקשו פני - את פניך ה' אבקש.¹
