By the Grace of G-d14th of Elul, 5720Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. . . .
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter, in which you write about the condition of your father's eyesight.
I do not know what eye specialists you have in England, but it is known here that in Switzerland there are outstanding specialists in this field. It would, therefore, be advisable for the doctor treating your father to communicate with one or two of the Swiss specialists, describing his condition and inquiring whether a personal visit by your father would be practical.
Needless to say, everyone is expected to do everything possible in the natural way, but at the same time it is necessary to have absolute faith in G-d as the true Healer of all flesh who works wondrously. Every additional effort in matters of Torah and Mitzvoth brings additional Divine blessings.
As we are now in the midst of the month of Elul, which is called "the month of Divine mercy,"1 when we say twice daily Psalm 27, beginning with "G-d is my light and my salvation," may it be so in your case, and may you have good news to report.
With the traditional blessing of
כתיבה וחתימה טובה
Cordially
M. Schneerson
