By the Grace of G-d8th of Iyar, 5744Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mrs. . . .
N. Y.
Blessing and Greeting:
I received your letter and, as requested, will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good, especially in behalf of your son.
Of course, while a Jew must never despair, and must put his or her complete trust in G-d, it is also necessary to do whatever possible in the natural order. In the present case, you ought to inquire about organizations that deal with similar problems.
At the same time, I must emphasize that since all blessings come from G-d, and the channel to receive them is through the everyday life and conduct in accordance with His Will, a special effort in matters of Yiddishkeit is indicated whenever a special Divine blessing is needed. And inasmuch as all members of a Jewish family constitute one entity, one body, a benefit to one part of it is a benefit to all the members, particularly when it concerns parents and children. In the matter of physical health, where direct treatment of the bodily disorder is difficult or even inaccessible, it is treated indirectly through those organs that closely affect that part. The same is true in regard to spiritual health, namely matters of Yiddishkeit,
When there is an appreciable addition in matters of Yiddishkeit on the part of parents and other close relatives, it is bound to have a beneficial effect on the one who needs it most. Needless to say, there is always room for improvement in all matters of goodness and holiness, Torah and Mitzvoth, which are infinite, being connected with The Infinite.
May G-d grant that you should have good news to report in all above.
With blessing,
