By the Grace of G-d21st of Elul, 5729Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. Chaim Hakohen Chaikin
Sharet St. 28
Bnei Braq
Greeting and Blessing:
After not hearing from you for a long time, I received your letter of the 4th of Elul. Thank you very much for the good news it contained.
Although you do not emphasize this, I trust that you are also fulfilling the command of the Torah to maintain all things of holiness on the ascendancy.1 This is to say, that you do not rest content with your accomplishment in the past in the matter of Kvias Ittim for Torah and the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth, and are striving to advance steadily. This will also bring additional Hatzlocho in all the matters about which you write. For, however satisfactory things may appear, there is always room for improvement in all matters of goodness.
No doubt you know about the Tefillin Campaign, and have also heard about its great importance, both because of the general importance of the Mitzvo of Tefillin, as well as in view of the present situation in Eretz Yisroel. I hope, therefore, that you also are trying to enlarge your share in this activity.
Wishing you a Kesivo vaChasimo Tovo,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
