By the Grace of G-d 9th of Adar, 5739 Brooklyn. N.Y.
Mr. Chaim Hakohen Chaikin
Comm. Of Chabad Chassidim Rehovot
Shikun Danya
P. O.B. 118
Rehovot
Greeting and Blessing:
This is to confirm receipt of your letter of the 2nd of Adar, with the enclosed photographs.
Many thanks for the good news about the advancement of Chabad in your community, particularly in regard to the Shul. May G-d grant that the difficulties which you mention will soon be overcome and, indeed, as in the case of Purim, will be transformed into positive and helpful factors, so that there will be "Light, Joy, Gladness and Honor"1 for all who are connected with this sacred work. And since our Sages explain the inner significance of the above terms, namely "Light - this is Torah."2 etc., it is particularly fitting in the case of the Shul, which will surely be not only a House of Prayer, but also a House of Torah.
Wishing you and all our friends in Rehovot an inspiring and joyous Purim,
With blessing
M. Schneerson
P.S. With regard to your mentioning the opening of the position of Treasurer of the Municipality, mentioning also some negative reasons for not seeking the position, I agree that the cons outweigh the pros.
