By the Grace of G-d16th of Kislev, 5745Brooklyn, N. Y.
Dr. . . .
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your (undated) letter, in which you write about your daughter. . .
Considering the seriousness of the matter, and since a Jew is expected to do what is necessary in the ordinary course of things, while putting his complete trust in HaShem, I suggest that you should discuss the matter with an expert attorney who is familiar with such matters, as to what you can do to protect your daughter.
The Zechus of your being a descendent of the family of the Alter Rebbe, the Founder of Chabad, will surely stand you and her in good stead when you will be remembered in prayer at the holy resting place of my father-in-law of saintly memory.
May G-d grant that you should have good news to report.
Especially as we have entered the month of Kislev, highlighted by Chanukah, which we celebrate by lighting the Chanukah Lights in increasing numbers from day to day, symbolizing the need to increase the lights of Torah and Mitzvoth, both at home and in one’s surroundings.
Wishing you and yours a bright and inspiring Chanukah,
With blessing,
