By the Grace of G-d 15th of Kislev, 5724 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter of the 27th of Marcheshvan, as well as the previous one, I read with interest about your activities and experiences during recent weeks. I trust that your accomplishments in the past will spur you to further achievements in the future and in a growing proportion, as our Sages said, "He who possesses 100, desires 200, and he who possesses 200, desires 400,"1 which means that having attained a higher level, a person is no longer satisfied with the previous increment. The same is true, of course, also in spiritual matters, where every achievement should call forth, a determination for an even greater achievement. This is also quite logical, considering that with a comparatively small effort so much was achieved in the past, how much more can be achieved in the future with greater effort.
I was pleased to read how you observed your birthday, and I send you my prayerful wish that this coming year should be blessed with Hatzlocho in your learning of Nigleh and Chassidus, and in the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth with Hiddur.
No doubt you are making suitable preparations for Yud-Tes Kislev, and may the inspiration be with you throughout the year.
With the blessing of Chag Ha-Geuloh
M. Schneerson
P.S. With regard to your writing about coming to learn at the Yeshiva here, after completing the current year (5723/4), it is, of course, too premature to make any decisions now, since the matter could come under consideration for entry at the end of the current year (5724).
