Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to receive your letter with the good news that you have been chosen to be Guests of Honor at the forthcoming Third Annual Dinner for the Friends of Lubavitch-Chabad.
While I am sure that your valuable services to the community in general, and Chabad-Lubavitch in particular, have always been appreciated, it is certainly a well deserved tribute to be chosen for this honor. I extend to you congratulations and prayerful wishes to go from strength to strength in serving as a shining example and inspiration.
Our Sages said, "Whoever has 100, desires 200; and (having attained) 200, desires 400." By this they tell us that human nature is such that ambition grows with accomplishment; and if this is so in regard to material wealth, it should be infinitely more so in regard to eternal values and accomplishments. Particularly when it concerns the vital needs of fellow Jews, especially the younger generation, and not merely those who are young in years, but also those who are still "young" in terms of experience and knowledge of Yiddishkeit, Torah and Mitzvoth.
With prayerful wishes for a growing measure of Hatzlocho in all above, and
With esteem and blessing,
M. Schneerson
P.S. As requested, I will remember you and all the members of your family in prayer, when visiting the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of saintly memory. May you always have good news to report.
