To All Participants in the
Annual Dinner of Oholei Torah
G-d bless you all!
Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to be informed of the forthcoming Annual Dinner on Rosh Chodesh Sivan. May G-d grant that it should be with much Hatzlocho in every respect.
Especially as the event is taking place on the auspicious day of Rosh Chodesh Sivan, the Third Month, when the Jews came to Mt. Sinai to receive the Torah "as one man with one heart"; all united by the same idea and the same feeling, which for the first time united all Jews into one people, as indicated in the words, "Israel encamped there facing the Mountain" - with eager anticipation to receive the Torah from Mt. Sinai.
And every year, on this day, this union is renewed and strengthened through the renewed and strengthened Jewish commitment to the Torah, to receive and observe it with dedication and joy, in the spirit of "facing the Mountain" which permeated all Jews on that first Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
Herein also lies the connection between the present event and the date. The educational institution "Oholei Torah" provides Jewish children with the proper Torah education, imbues them with the thought and desire to be always "facing the Mountain," and to relive the Divine Revelation at Mt. Sinai. They are further imbued with the awareness that the Torah and Mitzvoth unites and unifies every Jew with all the Jews into the one and only Jewish nation, the "Kingdom of Kohanim (G-d's servants) and holy nation." This is a Torah education that implants into the Jewish children a profound sense of privilege and responsibility for one another, "as one man with one heart" in the fullest meaning of V'Ohavto L'Reacho Komocho (loving one's fellow Jew as oneself), which expresses itself in concrete actions to help others in all their needs, both material and spiritual, so that everyone is elevated to the level of "facing the Mountain.”
I trust, and I am confident, that all participants and friends of "Oholei Torah" will warmly respond to the occasion of this Annual Dinner, to help raise the required financial support to enable this institution to continue and expand its educational facilities for an ever growing number of Jewish children to be educated in the said Chinuch.
I congratulate the honored guests and all participants who are helping to ensure the success of this annual event. The Zechus of it will surely bring generous Divine blessings to each and every one, with their families, in all needs, both materially and spiritually.
With esteem and prayerful wishes for Hatzlocho and good tidings,
/Signed: Menachem Schneerson/
