Blessing and Greeting:
I was pleased to receive a copy of the magazine and "a thing at the right time is very good," for it arrived at this time between the Festival of Mattan Torah and the Chag HaGeulo of my father-in-law of saintly memory.
As has been pointed out before, the Giving of the Torah at Sinai and the Chag HaGeulo have a special relationship in many respects. One point is that the Giving of the Torah marked the beginning of the Chinuch of our people as a "Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation," with emphasis on the doing, namely the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth in the daily life and conduct of every Jew. And the Chag HaGeulo reminds us, and shows us the way of how one is to implement this in actual practice, even under such adverse circumstances as my father-in-law of saintly memory had to face in that country at that time. It also reminds us that when a Jew is determined to uphold the Torah and Mitzvoth and to spread it to the fullest extent of his ability, he is bound to triumph over all obstacles and hindrances.
The above is particularly relevant to young people, boys as well as girls, who are in the process of advancement in their Torah Chinuch. In addition, there is the promise of Yogato u'Motzoso, namely, that when the proper effort is made, the results and achievements by far exceed all expectations.
The magazine makes a very favorable impression, both in its form as well as content, and all who have been associated with preparing and publishing it certainly deserve a great deal of credit.
With prayerful wishes for Hatzlocho in going from strength to strength in all matters of goodness and holiness, Torah and Mitzvoth, and
With the blessing of Chag HaGeulo
M. Schneerson
