By the Grace of G-dLag B'Omer, 5730Brooklyn N.Y.
To All Participants in the
Dedication of the United
Lubavitcher Yeshivoth Campus
G-d bless you -
Greeting and Blessing!
”Divine Providence causes a worthy thing to occur on an auspicious day.” It is surely auspicious for the Dedication to take place on the first of the Three Days of Preparation ushering in the Festival of Mattan Torah.
Shovuoth is the festival which saw the fulfilment of the Divine Promise to Moshe Rabbeinu: ”When you will take the people out of Mitzraim, you will serve G-d on this Mountain." While this promise refers, of course, to Mattan Torah, it is significant that it was expressed in terms of ”you will serve G-d," thus clearly indicating that Kabbolas hatorah is associated with Avodas Hashem. It emphasizes that the Torah has to be studied, and the Mitzvoth have to be observed, with Yiras Hashem (fear of G-d) and Kabbolas Ol (complete subservience).
Herein also lies the significance of the Dedication of the new Yeshiva building, in that it is the dedication of a center designed for Torah study with Yiras Shomayim, filled with students (may they multiply) who are wholeheartedly committed to the study of the Torah with love of G-d and fear of G-d, the kind of study which leads to practice, namely, the fulfilment of the Mitzvoth with Hiddur (beyond the call of duty); students whose education and conduct are founded on the three pillars of Chasidus: Love of G-d, love of the Torah and love of Israel, which are all one, in the fullest sense of "Tomchei Tmimim," according to the intent and purpose of the first founder of the Yeshiva, the Rebbe RaShaB and his son and successor, my father-in-law of saintly memory, the executive of the first Lubavitcher Yeshiva, who transplanted it on American soil.
Great is the Zechus (merit) of all those who have helped materialize the tremendous undertaking of the new building. I am certain that they will not only continue their support, but will also increase it, in order to enable the Yeshiva carry on its work, and carry out its purpose, in the fullest measure. Thus they will serve as an inspiring example to others, to emulate them, so that those who have not yet taken part in the new building will do so now, and become active partners in the United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth.
In this Zechus may the Almighty bless you all, and your families, with the fulfilment of your hearts' desires for good.
This will also hasten the fulfilment of the promise of our Sages: "In the future the houses of prayer and houses of study in Babylon (including all countries of the diaspora) will be transplanted permanently in Eretz Yisroel” (Megila 29a) -which will take place with the coming of the true and complete Geulo through our righteous Moshiach.
With blessing for abundant Hatzlocho in all above, and for good tidings,
Signed /Menachem Schneerson/
