By the Grace of G-d 29th of Shevat, 5718 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Shlomo Leib Litvin
81 Evans Street
Dorchester, Mass
Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to see you at the Farbrengen of Yud Shevat, and, subsequently also to receive regards from you and the children through who also left with me a little album with photographs of the new Yeshiva building. I trust that your wife conveyed to you my answers to your questions, and also a report about the visit of the group of women from Boston. I trust that the visit of this group will have fruitful results in their work to strengthen Yiddishkeit in general, and in behalf of the Yeshiva in particular.
I would like to add that, inasmuch as I find a number of vacant pages in the album, and inasmuch as, for the time being, the pictures represent only a building, I trust that very soon the album will be filled with pictures of the boys and girls who will be learning in this building, so that the building will become alive with their voices and with the spirit of the Torah and Mitzvoth. Moreover, as all Holy things should be on the ascendency,1 I trust that the building will soon be filled to overflowing, so that it may be necessary to look even for more ample quarters. This is not a far-fetched dream, for "nothing stands in the way of the will,"2 and where there is a determination, the results are assured.
With prayerful wishes in all above, as also in your personal affairs,
With blessing,
I just received your letter of February 11th, with enclosures.
With regard to the message that I gave to the group of women that visited me, I trust that it was mentioned to you that at the conclusion of it, I asked if everything I said was clear to them, and the reply was in the affirmative. However, since I see from your letter that not everything was clear after all, I would suggest that someone attempt to write down on paper what is remembered of my talk to the women, and send it to me, whereupon I will go over it and make all the necessary corrections, additions, etc. Needless to say that it is best to do it without delay, as long as the words are still fresh in the memory. I am therefore sending this letter Special Delivery.3
Inasmuch as we are on the eve of the month of Adar, of which our Rabbis say that with the arrival of Adar there should be an increased measure of joy,4 I trust that this will be so in your affairs, both public and spiritual, as well as personal and material, which all go hand in hand together.
