B.H.By the Grace of G-d11 of Nissan 5725Brooklyn N.Y.
Sholom U'vrocho
I have received your (undated) letter, in which you write of various difficulties you are having with your studies, . . . and that you can not keep up with your class, from your writing it is very clear as what the reason is for this.
However, from experience we know - and this has also been pointed by our sages,1 that to make progress in study is largely in the students own hands, and only normal progress, but even with greater success.
You should reflect in your own mind and consider well that the questions concerns the study of the holy Torah, which was given to us by the creator of the universe, including Men. Not only is G-d the Creator of the whole human race, but in each individual, including you, G-d therefore knows the best way how each one of us can find happiness and harmony in life, and he has made them know to us. One of the main roads leading to such happiness is the study of Torah and the fulfillment of Dinnim.
If you consider this carefully, you will understand that to study the Torah is not a burden which one has to force himself to carry, but is something we should do willingly and very eagerly, for this is the road to real happiness, not only spiritually, but also materially, and in this life, too; I wish you success in your studies, and I am sure you will do well when you consider the above well and often.
I will be glad to hear good news from you
With blessing
