Blessing and Greeting:
After the very long interval, I was pleased to receive your letter of October 13th, with the enclosure.
I was gratified to read about your activities in the summer camp, and that you are determined to use your good influence to strengthen and spread Yiddishkeit among the youth of Manchester. I trust that you will not only continue to do so, but that you will do so in a growing measure, for Jewish youth everywhere, and no less in Manchester, is greatly in need of such guidance and help, and all matters of holiness should be on the upgrade. At the same time, these efforts are also a channel and vessel to receive G-d's blessings in all one's personal needs and aspirations.
With regard to the question of the continuation of your own studies, it would be well to make use of every possibility for advancement of your Hebrew and religious education. In addition to the Shiurim with Rev. Olsberg which you mention, surely your uncle, Rabbi Unsdorfer, and perhaps others as well, may be willing to arrange Shiurim for you and friends.
Inasmuch as the new school year has already started, and you have already begun your activities for strengthening Yiddishkeit in Manchester, it would be a pity to interrupt this. All the more so, since, as mentioned above, there are opportunities for your own advancement in Manchester, perhaps not less than in any other place. In the final analysis, such advancement is dependent upon the will and determination, and this is much easier when one has also the encouragement and support of parents, as you are fortunate to have.
With Blessing,
M. Schneerson
Enclosed is a copy of my message for Rosh Hashana,1 which is timely all year round. I trust you will be able to make good use of it.
