By the Grace of G-d30th of Nissan, 1st day ofRosh Chodesh Iyar, 5722Brooklyn, New York
To All Participants in the
Annual Dinner of the Yeshiva
Tomchei Tmimim of Newark,
G-d bless you
Greeting and Blessing:
I am glad to be informed of your forthcoming Annual Dinner on the 23rd day of Iyar.
At this time when the auspicious month of Nissan gives way to the auspicious month of Iyar. I Send you my prayerful wishes for the utmost success of your important undertaking, both financially and spiritually, which must go hand-in-hand together.
The month of Iyar is distinguished by the fact that it has the Mitzvah of Sefirah (Counting the Omer) every day of the month. In this month, also, the building of the First Beth Hamikdosh was begun.
Of course, nowadays, it is the Yeshiva and the Shul which are called "minor Beth Hamikdosh,"1 for their function is the same - to maintain the close attachment of the Jewish people to their Heavenly Father, by means of the Torah and Mitzvoth, and Jewish way of life, as a dally experience, continuous and uninterrupted.
All of you who have a share in this, though the support of your Yeshiva, invest in immediate and eternal values and benefits, I hope you will do so with the utmost generosity, and this will stand you in good stead to be blessed by G-d most generously in all your needs, materially and spiritually,
With Blessing,
/Signed/ M. Schneerson
