By the Grace of G-d13th of Iyar, 5720Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr.
Amsterdam
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter of the 27th of Nissan, and I was very pleased to read in it that your visit in London was enjoyable and beneficial to you. I trust that you will be in communication with your friends there.
With regard to your question about the foundation of a Yeshiva in Holland, it seems that this will not materialize in the very near future, insofar as a Chabad Yeshiva is concerned. I cannot, of course, say what the chances are with regard to the foundation of another kind of a Yeshiva in Holland.1
With reference to your general frame of mind, I believe I have written to you before about the importance of having absolute faith in G-d, by which I mean the sense and feeling that G-d’s Benevolent Providence watches over all the daily affairs of every individual and in every particular. If you will take time out to reflect upon your own affairs you will undoubtedly see how the Divine Providence has participated in them...
We are at present in the period connecting the Festival of Pesach, the Season of our Freedom, with the Festival of Shevuoth, the Season of our Receiving the Torah. Both Festivals complement each other in that they brought to Jewish people not only freedom from moral and physical slavery, but also good health and freedom from all kinds of distractions and difficulties, in order to be able to serve G-d in good health and with a happy frame of mind.
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
Just received your request about doing something for Mr. . . Unfortunately, as already mentioned to you earlier, nothing can be done along the lines you suggested.
