By the Grace of G-d17th of Elul, 5721Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. Ben Zion Chaim Bernstein
28, Francklyn Gardens
Edgware, Middlesex
Greeting and Blessing:
Your letter of the 3rd of Elul reached me with some delay.
I was gratified to read about your good resolution to participate more fully in the activities of Chabad, as well as to strengthen your own background in this direction. I need hardly emphasize that in the light of the words of our Sages that "The essential thing is the deed," the way to go about the fulfillment of your resolution is to apply yourself in your daily life in a practical way to the study of the Torah, which is called Toras Chaim, and the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth whereby Jews live, in a way that is permeated with the light and warmth of Chassidus. To quote our Sages again "There is nothing that stands in the way of the will," and may G-d grant you success.
Wishing you a Kesivo vachasimo Toivo,
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
With regard to an appointment to see me, you will have to communicate with my appointment secretary on arrive in New York.
