By the Grace of G-d 3rd of Adar I, 5733 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. & Mrs. Josef and Devorah Shiff

Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to receive your invitation, announcing your son's forthcoming Bar Mitzvah.
I am enclosing herewith a personal letter to Daniel Eliezer1, and if it requires further elucidation, I trust you will give it to him.
I want to thank you for letting me know about your impressions of Simchas Torah, which you spent here.
I trust that these impressions are finding expression in the daily life, for the essential thing is the deed. I has often been emphasized that the important thing about our festivals is to carry the message and inspiration of the particular festival into the every-day life throughout the year. And the main message of Simchas Torah is, of course, that each and every day throughout the year should b permeated with the spirit of Torah and imbued with joy, realising that all matters of Torah and Mitzvoth are not a burden, G-d forbid, but a unique privilege.
Wishing you Mazal Tov on your son's Bar Mitzvah and the traditional blessing that you should bring him up to a life of Torah, Chuppah and good deeds.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
