Greeting and Blessing:
I am pleased to be informed that you are being honored on the occasion of your Eightieth Birthday in appreciation of your contributions to the community in general and to the Chabad House Students Center in Ann Arbor in particular.
May G-d grant that from the "age of strength" you should proceed "from strength to strength" for many long and happy years filled with a growing measure of good deeds connected with Torah, Toras Chayim - “our life and the length of our days."
As you surely know, the Mitzvah of Ahavas Yisroel, which is the Golden Rule of our Torah - especially as it is emphasized in the teachings of Chabad - has always been the prime mover in serving the community and the individual. In our day and age of spiritual confusion - fortunately coupled with a serious quest for the eternal values and personal identity - the first priority must unquestionably be given to Torah education of our young, not only those young in years but also those who are "young" in knowledge and experience of Yiddishkeit. There is no other way of preserving the future of our people, both on the communal and individual level, than by serving their vital spiritual needs.
May your exemplary contributions in the past and growing endeavors in the future be a source of inspiration for others to follow your example.
I extend to you my prayerful wishes for a generous measure of Divine blessings to continue your good works with increased dedication, in vigorous health, and with joy and gladness of heart.
With esteem and blessing,
M. Schneerson
