By the Grace of G-d20th of Elul, 5720Brooklyn, N. Y.
Mr. Osher Zelig Gottlieb
c/o Rabbi B. K. Greenberg
3226 W. Carmen Ave.
Chicago 25, Ill.
Greeting and Blessing:
I duly received your letter, in which you write about the attitude of your parents towards your future plans of learning at the Yeshiva. In this connection, you ought to get some friends who will talk to your parents, and convince them to take a favorable attitude in this matter.
Incidentally, you write that your father is not pleased that you wear a Gartel. Surely you know and also your father knows, that precisely in Lubavitch it is not customary for boys of your age to wear a Gartel. This should help your father obtain a truer picture of the kind of education and training which Lubavitcher boys receive, and ought to improve his attitude in this direction.
Above all, you ought to devote yourself to learning the Torah with dedication and diligence, as well as the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth in the best possible way, so as to be a living example of what a Jewish boy should be. May G-d bless you with success and the fulfillment of your heart's desire for good.
Wishing you a Ksivo vachasimo toivo,
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
