By the Grace of G-dRosh Chodesh Adar Sheni,5744. Brooklyn N.Y.
Mr. Mordechai Goldstein
President of Congregation Sons of Israel
Asbury Park, N.J.
Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to be informed of the forthcoming Installation of your worthy Rabbi Zvi Carlebach on 7 Adar Sheni. May it be in a happy and auspicious hour.
While the whole month of Adar is auspicious, having been designated by the Torah as the month of Marbin bSimcha - the 7th day of Adar, the birthday of Moshe Rabbeinu, is particularly auspicious and fitting for the installation. For it is the great responsibility as well as great Zechus of a Jewish spiritual leader to lead his congregation in the footsteps, and in the spirit, of our first Jewish leader, in full accord with the letter and spirit of the Torah, Toras Moshe.
I am confident that under the dedicated leadership of your esteemed Rabbi, and with the equally dedicated cooperation of yourself as president, the Honorary Officers and the membership at large, your Congregation will advance from strength to strength in all matters of Torah-true Yiddishkeit.
In the spirit of Purim and in the words of the Megillah, I extend prayerful wishes that the prayers and Torah studies conducted in your House of Prayer and House of Torah, as well as the homes of each and all your members and worshippers, will always be permeated with "Light, joy, gladness and honor," - both in the ordinary sense, as well as in the deeper meaning of these terms, as our Sages declare: “Light - this is Torah," etc.
With blessing for Hatzlocho and good tidings in all the above
M. Schneerson
