Greeting and Blessing:
I was pleased to receive your regards through Rav Garelik in connection with the bright and auspicious day of Yud-Tes Kislev, the Liberation Day of the Alter Rebbe, which, as you know, is also the Yahrzeit Anniversary of the Mesritcher Maggid, whose disciple and successor the Alter Rebbe was. This year the day had a special significance, being the 200th Yahrzeit Anniversary of the Maggid.
I also received the shemen-zayis.
Together with expressing my sincere appreciation of your thoughtfulness and kind gesture, I take this opportunity of extending to you and all yours my prayerful wishes that all your affairs should advance in the spirit of Chanukah and the Chanukah Lights which are kindled in increasing numbers and brightness from day to day. And also in the spirit of the Chanukah Lights which are kindled "at the entrance of the house, outside," may your activities outside your home, i.e. your Askonus Tziburis to spread the light of the Torah and Mitzvos in your surroundings, likewise grow from day to day.
Wishing you and all yours an inspiring and bright Chanukah,
With personal regard and with blessing,
M. Schneerson
