By the Grace of G-d 16th of Shevat, 5738 Brooklyn, N. Y.

Greeting and Blessing:
I duly received your letters of Jan. 16th, etc., in which you write about your happy involvement with Lubavitch for the past eight to ten years.
I am gratified to read further in your letter that this association expresses itself in practical terms, in accordance with the teaching of our Sages that the essential thing is the deed - both in regard to your own advancement in Torah and Mitzvoth, as well as in regard to your influence in the environment.
Needless to say, there is always room for improvement in all matters of goodness and holiness, Torah and Mitzvoth, which are infinite, being connected with the Infinite. Moreover, our Sages say that "He who has 100, desires 200," etc., meaning that it is in the nature of a human being that ambition grows with achievement. If this is so in material things, how much more so in regard to the true and eternal values of Torah and Mitzvoth. May G-d grant that this should be so in your case, and since G-d rewards in kind, but in a most generous measure, may He bestow His blessings on you and yours in a growing measure.
Your Pidyon will be read at the holy resting place of my father-in-law of saintly memory.
Hoping to hear good news from you always,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
