By the Grace of G-d 4th of Kislev, 5744Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. H. Lindenthal
c/o Ampal Securities Corp.
Greeting and Blessing:
Thank you for your letter of Nov. 3rd, with the good news it contained. Your thoughtfulness is particularly appreciated, inasmuch as it often happens that people write when they have problems, but sometimes forget to write that the problems have been resolved, with G-d's help.
May G-d grant that you should always have good news to report.
Now that we have entered the auspicious month of Kislev, which concludes with the bright days of Chanukah, there is surely no need to emphasize to you at length one of the basic lessons of Chanukah, namely, that however satisfactory the level of Yiddishkeit may be, there is always room for advancement in all matters of Torah and Mitzvoth, as symbolized by the Chanukah Lights that are kindled in growing numbers from day to day, reflecting Ner Mitzvo v'Torah Or. And although all the Mitzvoth should be observed for their own sake, they are also the channels to receive G-d's blessings in all needs, both materially and spiritually.
Wishing you and yours a bright and inspiring Chanukah,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
