By the Grace of G-d2nd of Menachem Av, 5722Brooklyn, N.Y.
Blessing and Greeting:
Your letter reached me with very considerable delay.
I agree with you, of course, that you can justly be proud of your son and may G-d grant you always true Yiddish nachas from him together with your husband.
I trust also that you will not give up your daughter as a lost cause, for, as our Sages teach us, a Jew should never despair, and should never give up trying to rectify any situation. Especially such a tragic situation as has happened to your daughter. Experience has shown that in such cases it is easier to accomplish things through the help of friends rather than by direct approach of the immediate relatives. And although the situation has persisted for some time, there is no justification to despair of it, and efforts should be made by all possible means, while placing one’s trust in G-d, to extricate your daughter from her terrible plight.
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
