Greeting and Blessing:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 24th of Shevat, enclosing your Curriculum Vitae.
May G-d, whose benevolent Providence extends to each and everyone individually, lead you in the way that is truly good for you, and you should go from strength to strength in all that is good. And insofar as a Jew is concerned, the true good is Torah and Mitzvoth, both in one's personal life, as well as spreading and strengthening true Yiddishkeit to the fullest extent of one's ability and one's surroundings.
Now that we have entered the auspicious month of Adar, which is highlighted by the festival of Purim, it is timely to recall the commentary of our Sages on the words of the Megillah, "For the Jews there was Light, Joy, Gladness and Honor - Light - this is Torah . . . Honor - this is Tefillin," etc. In this way they emphasized that insofar as Jews are concerned, light, joy, etc. in the ordinary sense is closely linked with the inner meaning of light and joy, namely the Torah and Jewish way of life. Thus, the eternal message of Purim reaffirms this basic concept of Yiddishkeit, from which it also follows that every additional effort in matters of Torah and Mitzvoth bring additional Divine blessings in all needs, both materially and spiritually.
Wishing you and yours a joyous and inspiring Purim, and hoping to hear good news from you in all above.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
