B.H. 27th of Tishrei, 5725 Brooklyn, N.Y.

Blessing and Greeting:
I am in receipt of your letter of the 24th of Tishrei, in which you write about the climate created in England by the activity of the Fascists, etc., and of measures taken to combat them.
It must be borne in mind that while it is necessary in the case of any problem to take steps to overcome the problem in the natural way, such steps can succeed only if they are blessed by Divine Providence. And since the Torah and Mitzvoth are the channels and vessels to receive G-d’s blessings, the effectiveness of human efforts in every case, including the situation you describe, will depend on the efforts which are exerted to strengthen and spread Torah learning and Torah observance in the daily life of the Jew, on the communal and individual levels. Fortunately, each and every Jew and Jewess can contribute to this, and not only Rabbonim and communal leaders. And as in the case of material Tzedoko, noone is exempt from contributing his share, not even a poor man, so in spiritual Tzedoko must each one contribute according to ability and means, which is self-evident.1
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
