Greeting and Blessing:

I received your letter of Hoshana Rabba with some delay.

May G-d grant that your resolutions, about which you write, should be fulfilled for good and blessing, and that you should apply yourself to the study of the Torah and the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth with inner joy and gladness of heart. Moreover, since our Sages taught us that all matters of holiness should be on the ascendancy,¹ I trust that you will make every effort to go from strength to strength, both in the study of Nigleh and Chassidus, and the fulfillment of the Mitzvoth, since the essential thing is the deed.² There is the assurance that "He who is determined to purify himself, receives help from On High."³

Enclosed is a copy of my Rosh Hashonah message of this year.⁴ Its main point is that everyone has tremendous forces and a tremendous potential, and it is only necessary to activate them and utilize them to the full. May it be so in your case.
