By the Grace of G-d Erev Shabbos Mevorchim Shevat, 5729 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mrs. Surah Rachel Block
2453 Coronet Way, N.W.
Apt. K-3
Atlanta , Ga. 30318
Blessing and Greeting:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 20th of Teves.
May G-d grant the fulfillment of your heart’s desires for good, especially to have true Yiddish and Chasidish Torah Nachas from each of your children and grandchildren, and from all of them together, and may you enjoy it in good health for many many years.
This letter is being written on Erev Shabbos Mevorchim Shevat, the month highlighted by the Yahrzeit of my father-in-law of saintly memory. You surely have heard a great deal from your son1 about the life and work of my father-in-law of saintly memory, especially his dedication and selflessness in spreading Yiddishkeit in various parts of the world, and in his last years, working indefatigably in the United States, to help change the entire complex of American Jewry in the direction of Torah and Mitzvoth as a way of life in the daily life.
May his inspiration be with all of us and stimulate us to follow in his footsteps, each one to the best of his and her ability.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
