By the Grace of G-d 5th of Kislev, 5722 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dr. Yitzchok Leib Block
625 Kipp's Lane
London Ont.
Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter and enclosure. As requested, I will remember the person you mentioned, in prayer, when visiting the holy resting place of my father-in-law of saintly memory.
I was pleased to read in your letter that another article of yours was accepted for publication. I trust that you are in contact also with similar other journals, and that you are also maintaining your contact with your professors at Harvard, for such contacts are always useful. May G-d grant you success in all your good efforts.
With blessing,
By Nissan Mindel
Do you know, and have you had any contact with, Drs. Teitelbaum of Montreal and Ullman of Toronto? I had occasion to discuss with both of them the confusion in many minds about the position of science vis-a-vis the Torah, and the need of emphasizing that all so-called scientific ”laws” are not absolute but only probable, and that scientific conclusions are merely working theories. The Torah, on the other hand, is absolute. There can, therefore, be no question of conflict between that which is only "perhaps” and that which is certain ("Bori v’shemo - bori odif”).
