By the Grace of G-d 27th of Nissan, 5724 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Simcha Rabin
421 Dundas St.
London, Ontario, Canada
Greeting and Blessing!
I was pleased to receive regards from you through Dr. Yitzchok Leib Block during his recent visit for Pessach here. Dr. Block also told me that you participate in the Shiurim which he conducts, etc. It is, of course, essential to have daily Shiurim, even if, necessarily, for a limited period of time, and more extended periods of study during the holy Shabbos. I trust that you will not only continue to participate in such Shiurim, but will also induce your friends to do so, and may it be the kind of study which leads to action, as emphasized by our Sages of blessed memory.1
Dr. Block informed me also that you occupy a position of prominence in the community. This offers you a special opportunity to exercise a beneficial influence on a larger scale than is usually given to the average person. But opportunity means obligation, as it is written, "Know Him in all your ways,”2 which means that a Jew has to spread the knowledge of G-d, and the light of the Torah and Mitzvoth to the fullest extent of his opportunity. We have been assured that words coming from the heart find a ready response.3
Enclosed is a copy of my Pessach message,4 which I trust you will find interesting and useful.
With blessing
P.S. Receipt is enclosed for your Tzedoko, and may it stand you and yours in good stead.
