By the Grace of G-d 7th of Tammuz, 5746 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Yerachmiel Spiegel
5601 East River Road
Minneapolis, Min. 55432
Greeting and Blessing:
I duly received your letter of July 10 requesting a blessing in connection with your 50th birthday on the 4th of Tammuz.
I trust you know the saying of our Sages: ”... the age of 50 is the age of (giving) counsel" (Pirkei Ovos, end of ch. 5).
May HaShem grant you to utilize to the full this and your other capacities for the benefit of the many. And, needless to say, growing older and wiser means rising to ever higher levels of achievement in all matters that are good and positive, particularly in activities dedicated to the good of the community and our Jewish people in which you have been involved in conjunction with our esteemed mutual friend, Rabbi Moshe Feller. The Zechus of it will certainly stand you and yours in all above.
As requested, I will remember you and your family in prayer when visiting the holy resting place of my father-in-law the Rebbe of saintly memory; especially that together with your wife you should celebrate many, many happy birthdays and enjoy a full measure of true Yiddish Nachas from each and all of your children and from each other.
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
