Mr. . .
Cape Town, South Africa
Greeting and Blessing:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter with enclosure.
As requested, I will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart’s desires for good in the matters about which you wrote.
The zechus of your tzedaka, for which receipt is enclosed, will surely bring you additional Divine blessings.
With regard to the question of parnosso and whether it would be advisable to make a change and start a different business enterprises, etc., there is surely no need to point out at length that starting a new business requires a great deal of adjustments and unforeseen problems and so on. You should therefore discuss with knowledgeable friends whether it is advisable in your case to make such a change, or it would be more advisable to invest the energy and effort, etc., in overcoming the problems that you are familiar with in your present business.
As we are now about to enter the auspicious month of Elul, it is timely to recall the parable of the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, by means of which he brings out the significance of the month of Elul:
“There is a time when a king goes out to meet the people working in the fields. Then everyone has an opportunity to greet the king personally and the king receives everyone with a gracious smile and grants everyone’s request.”
The month of Elul, last month of the Jewish year, has been designated by Hashem as a month of special Divine Grace and Mercy. It gives every Jew the opportunity, through self-assessment and resolve to strengthen one’s commitment to Torah-true living, to assure oneself of a truly happy New Year, both materially and spiritually.
May every one of us, in the midst of klal Yisroel, make the most of this extraordinary opportunity.
Wishing you and yours a Kesivo vaChasimoTovo, for a good and sweet year.
With blessing,
