By the Grace of G-d19th of Cheshvan, 5742Brooklyn, N. Y.

Blessing and Greeting:
I duly received your letter of the 7th of Cheshvan, with the enclosure, in which you write about the idea of your settling in Eretz Yisroel, which you and your husband would like to do.
In general, it would be advisable for you to consult with knowledgeable friends who know you personally, and who are also familiar with the situation in Eretz Yisroel, where conditions change from time to time. Therefore, it would be better not to make a decision ahead of time, but closer to the time when the actual step is contemplated.
At the same time, since your main considerations have to do with your husband’s job and other economic matters, it should be taken into account that making such a move would entail a great deal of adjustment, also in terms of moving expenses and time and energy, etc. Consequently, it is possible that if you invested all this expense and effort to improve your situation here, it may perhaps be more productive.
A further consideration is also the fact that you have an opportunity to be a positive factor in spreading and strengthening Yiddishkeit in your surroundings, by showing a living example as well as by participating in activities of promoting Yiddishkeit, whereas relocating in another place would, for a time at least, take up most of your attention and efforts in getting acclimatized and adjusted.
May G-d, whose benevolent Providence extends to each and everyone individually, lead you in the way that is truly good for you materially and spiritually, and you should make the proper decision.
Receipt is enclosed for your Tzedoko, and may it additionally stand you and yours in good stead.
With blessing
M. Schneerson
