By the Grace of G-d23rd of Nissan, 5740April 9, 1980Brooklyn, N. Y.
The Hon. Alexander Cortese De Bosis
Consul General of Italy
690 Park Avenue
New York N.Y. 10021
Greeting and Blessing:
I am pleased to acknowledge receipt of your mailgram1 of March 27th, 1960, expressing the good wishes of His Excellency President Sandro Bertini of Italy on the occasion of my birthday.
Please convey to His Excellency President Bertini my profound appreciation of his good wishes, which I heartily reciprocate.
The President's message is particularly welcome and meaningful in light of the fact that our worldwide Chabad Lubavitch movement, which I am privileged to head, has for decades found a conducive climate in Milano and other cities in Italy for its educational institutions and youth activities, which substantially contribute to the spiritual and material well-being of not only the Jewish community in your country, but also of the society at large.
With prayerful wishes for the good health and prosperity of His Excellency President Bertini and of all the Italian people,
Cordially,
M. Schneerson
