By the Grace of G-d 12th of Adar, 5740 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dr. . . .
Oradell, N.J 07649
Greeting and Blessing:
It was a pleasure to see you and have a chat with you. Thank you very much for your letter following our personal meeting.
Apropos of our discussion, it is interesting and significant that although our Jewish religion is based on pure monotheism and profound philosophical concepts, which have been expounded by our great thinkers of all ages, the most characteristic principle and motto of Judaism is that - "the essential thing is the deed.” To you, as a physician, there is no need to emphasize at length the practical aspect of this principle, since the essential function of a physician is to bring healing and cure to the patient, while the theoretical aspect of the healing process is secondary.
I particularly appreciate your thoughtfulness in sending me - the text of "The Physician's Prayer" attributed to Rabbi Judah Halevi.
Once again, many thanks for your special attention, both professionally and as a friend. And may G-d grant you hatzlocho in bringing healing to all your patients.
I take this opportunity to extend to you and yours best wishes for a joyous and inspiring Purim.
With esteem and blessing,
