By the Grace of G-d 20th of Shevat, 5740 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. and Mrs. . . .
Greeting and Blessing:
After not hearing from you for a long time, I was pleased to receive your letter with enclosures.
You are surely familiar with the significance of Yud Shevat, the yartzeit anniversary of my father-in-law of saintly memory and are no doubt familiar also with his life and work. And remembering his total dedication to the spreading of Yiddishkeit, Torah and mitzvos and how much he urged everyone to be involved in this vital activity assuring us of his personal intercession and blessing for hatzlocho, everyone of us will surely redouble our efforts in this direction.
Needless to say this will also widen the channels to receive G-d's blessings in all your personal needs, materially and spiritually.
Herein is also the answer to some of your questions. I will only add, and I trust you will not take these remarks amiss, that when there is room for strengthening the shalom bayis and mutual harmony, there is an indication about the need to observe more carefully the laws and regulations of Jewish Family Life. For it often happens that a closeness and affection at a time when these should be kept in abeyance, result in the opposite direction when closeness and affection are very much in order. It is also a well known fact that the period of abstinence has the salutary effect of rejuvenating and cementing the mutual harmony and affection of a Jewish husband and wife who, as our Sages declare, provide an abode for the Divine Presence.
May G-d grant that you have good news to report in all above.
With blessing,
