By the Grace of G-d 3rd of Adar, 5734 Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. . . .
Greeting and Blessing:
I am in receipt of your letter with the enclosure. In your letter you write about the question of adoption.
No doubt you realize that this question is quite complicated from the viewpoint of Halachah in addition to complications of an emotional nature, etc.
As for your request for advice, I would like to point out that a delay in receiving G-d’s blessing for children is often due to the fact that the laws and regulations of Taharas Hamishpocho have not been observed with meticulous care, due to forgetfulness and the like. I would therefore suggest that you and your wife should carefully review these laws and regulations and resolve to carry them out scrupulously henceforth. After you have done this for a month or two, you should again consult a physician and follow his instructions.
I would also suggest that you should have your tefillin as well as the mezuzos of your home checked to make sure they are kosher.
If you will let me know your full Hebrew names, together with the mother’s full name in each case, as is customary, I will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart’s desires for good.
With blessing,
