Blessing and Greeting:
I was pleased to receive your regards through Mrs. ..., as well as your recent letter.
I trust that inasmuch as we have just celebrated the Festival of Mattan Torah, the inspiration of it will be for you, as for all Jews, a true guideline in the daily life, where the Torah is both Torah Or and Toras Chaim. The Torah is Light in the sense that it lights up the Jew’s path in life — showing him how to behave and conduct himself, knowing what is good and what is wrong. It is also the Light in the sense that it illuminates the daily life, having the power to transform what would otherwise be darkness into light, by giving meaning and content to the daily living.
The essential aspect of the above is that the daily life of a Jew must be permeated with the Torah and Mitzvoth, ordering the daily life in accordance with the Torah as it is concentrated in the Shulchan Aruch. And when a Jew is resolutely determined to do so, the difficulties that might be encountered turn out to be much less than anticipated. At the same time, the Torah and Mitzvoth are also the channels and vessels to receive G-d’s blessings in the material and spiritual needs, which in turn facilitates one’s advancement in the daily Torah life, and eventually eliminates all distractions and negative aspects, so as to be able to serve G-d with joy and gladness of heart.
May G-d grant that you should have good news to report in regard to all above.
With blessing,
P.S. if you will let me know your full Hebrew name, as well as your mother's name, as is customary in such a case, i will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good.
