By the Grace of G-d12th of Menachem Av, 5731
I received your letter of July 18 and conveyed it to the Rebbe שליט״א. The English translation of the Rebbe's שליט״א reply follows:
"In response to your inquiry as to how you can help your daughter,
When parents conduct their daily lives in accordance with the will and wish of the "Healer of all flesh Who works wondrously" (the Almighty) as this way of life is prescribed in the Shulchan Aruch, it enhances the success of the medical treatment being administered by the human doctor (who is the emissary of the "Healer of all flesh") to the children of these parents.
Even if it appears difficult to parents to change the way of life they have been accustomed to - more difficult things are done by parents for the sake of their children.
There would be no need to visit here, inasmuch as my reply would be the same as stated above. I would suggest that the cost of the trip rather be given to a charity in your daughter's zechus.
When visiting the Holy resting place of my father-in-law, of saintly memory, I will remember you all in prayer."
With best wishes,
Sincerely.
Rabbi M. A. Hodakov
