By the Grace of G-d 5th of Tammuz, 5731 Brooklyn, N. Y.
c/o Rabbi M. Feller
1955 Pinehurst Ave.
S.P., Minn. 55116
Greeting and Blessing:
Rabbi Moshe Feller has been keeping me posted about your consistent help in the work of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch in Minneapolis and surrounding region. He has also written to me that as a person who likes to share good things with others, you have involved your friends in this worthy cause. Thus, it is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you at length the vital importance of the work of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch in your state as elsewhere, especially in this day and age when the young generation is so woefully confused.
What makes this work even more imperative is the fact that there are, fortunately, many young Jewish boys and girls who have shown a tremendous interest in Jewish values, and are eagerly looking for guidance and inspiration that would lead them back to their Source, and make Yiddishkeit meaningful to them in their daily life and conduct.
I was particularly gratified to read of the special recognition which has recently been given to you in the affairs of the State, and your having been chosen for an important post in this connection. This will undoubtedly further extend your influence, and since everything is by individual Divine Providence, your resolve to utilize the additional measure of influence in the right direction will certainly bring you G-d’s blessing for Hatzlocho, both in your personal, as well as your general, affairs. May G-d grant you good health and strength to carry out this work with inspiration and vitality for the benefit of the community at large through fostering all positive forces of the good and the holy and particularly for the benefit of the Jewish community in all matters of goodness and holiness pertaining to Jewish life.
Having heard so much about you from Rabbi Feller, I trust you will also find inspiration in the forthcoming Chag HaGeulo observance on the 12-13th of Tammuz, the historic day on which my father-in-law of saintly memory was liberated from Soviet imprisonment, where he faced great peril for his dedicated work to preserve Jewish life and institutions even under that hostile regime. His experience has demonstrated how much even a single person can achieve with a determined will and unbending courage in the cause of all that is good and holy, despite tremendous difficulties and obstacles.
Although this letter is long overdue, I want you to know that I sincerely appreciate your consistent interest and cooperation in the various programs of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch in your region. I am confident that, like in all good things which should be on the ascendancy, you will go from strength to strength in this important work in the area of education and youth activities.
With esteem and blessing
M. Schneerson
P.S. I am sending this letter through Rabbi Feller, since he has been instrumental in bringing us together.
