By the Grace of G-d 5th of Nissan, 5729 Brooklyn, N.Y.
6555 N. Rockwell St.
Chicago, Ill. 60645
Blessing and Greeting:
I received your letter of the 29th of Adar, with the enclosure. And, as requested, I will remember you in prayer for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good in all the matters about which you write.
With regard to the subject matter of your letter, surely you should not, G-d forbid, suspect your son Avrohom of lacking in devotion.
And while I do not know what is behind the letter of your son to you, which you mention, I have no doubt whatever that his attachment to you and the family in general has not weakened. I am convinced of this not only on the basis of the fact that he would not treat lightly an important Mitzvo in the Torah, which also is one of the Ten Commandments, namely honoring father and mother, but also because I know your son personally from the years of his study at the Yeshiva here. But our Sages warn us, ”Do not judge the other person until you are in his place.” Therefore, I am not in a position to make a judgment in regard to your son’s letter.
At any rate, inasmuch as we are now approaching the Festival of our Liberation, may G-d grant that it should bring you, in the midst of all our people, a full measure of liberation from all negative and distracting thoughts and anxieties, so that you should be able to celebrate the festival of Pesach with peace of heart and mind and with joy.
The Zechus of the Tzedoko, for which receipt is enclosed, will additionally stand you and yours in good stead.
Wishing you and yours a Kosher and happy Pesach,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
